Promoting problem-solving, communication, calculated risk-taking, and resilience through creative play.
Our values
Our values guide how we shape our programs, to help kids grow and learn important skills. Our primary goal is to provide a safe and welcoming place to nurture play and communication.
-
Evidence supports that free play and a general sense of playfulness support one’s ability to learn, solve problems, and be creative. In all of our work, we will strive to embody a sense of playfulness among adults and youth alike.
-
We seek to ensure that everyone feels a sense of connection and belonging, as well as a responsibility for the impact of their actions on the community in which we coexist.
-
Our program encourages and nurtures independence, confidence in an individual’s ideas and beliefs, and a sense of self-possession. We believe this builds a foundation for practicing self-advocacy.
-
In order to support a sense of community and belonging, our organization expects that all participants and leaders demonstrate sincere respect for others, our community, and ourselves.
-
We recognize that clear and honest communication is the greatest tool with which to build relationships and solve problems. As a program for youth, it is our goal to not only teach, but also model positive and open communication.
To build stronger communities by empowering children through creative play and unique learning opportunities.
Vision statement
What we offer
We are so excited to put our creative efforts to work to bring more of our unique and engaging programming to a wider audience in the Austin area. In fact, we already have lots of ideas and plans in the work, and we can’t wait to share them with you!
Stay tuned for updates!
Future programming…
Our pilot in-school program, spilled milk song club, brings our popular songwriting camp, OPERATION: Rock N Roll Nation, into the classroom! Fifth grade classes will be placed into small groups, or bands, that will work with local musicians to write and record an original song pertaining to a social studies topic of their choice. This cross curricular program not only supports social studies standards, but also includes elements from the ELA and music TEKS.
spilled milk song club will launch in the Fall of 2023 at Blanton Elementary, serving nearly 100 students completely free of charge!
